“What they did finally is they decided to just forcibly get me out from there and put me with Fr. Bob Garon in the drug abuse rehabilitation center. Not because I took drugs but because they wanted me out”, GMA News quoted her as saying.
Lopez also blasted Lacson for bringing up her past and dared him to argue with her on principles.
“I don’t take alcohol, I don’t smoke. For him to accuse me of something which happened 40 years ago and to label me on something shows that he’s really going below the belt,” she said. “If you want to argue with me, argue with me on principles. Argue with me on the truth. Don’t bring up mud just to bring up mud.”
In his explanation of his no-vote against Lopez which he said was necessary because of President Rodrigo Duterte’s earlier insinuation that they were paid by the mining industry, Lacson brought up her confinement and said she may have suffered from drug dependence or personality disorder. However, it was never confirmed as she escaped the facility before she could be diagnosed.
According to the senator, he decided to vote against the avid environmentalist because of her “authoritarian tendencies” and unwillingness to conform to the legal process.
