Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Director,General Ronald De la Rosa warned the remaining members of the bandit group Abu Sayyaf, who escaped, after the bloody encounter with the police and military in Bohol almost two, weeks ago, that their days are numbered.

As mentioned in an Inquirer story dated,April 21, 2017, the PNP Chief made the warning after President Rodrigo Duterte, dangled a P1-million-for-each-Abu Sayyaf member reward to anyone who can provide information on the whereabouts,of the bandits who remain at large.

De la Rosa said the reward being offered by,the President is a big help in catching the remaining members of Abu Sayyaf.

“People will really look for them,” the PNP chief said.

On April 10, at least 10 Abu Sayyaf members, led by sub-leader Abu Rami sailed from Basilan in Mindanao to Bohol in Central Visayas,to allegedly conduct kidnappings. They were aided by a local resident identified as Joselito Melloria, who acted,as the group’s guide in the remote town of Inabanga.

The bandits’ plan was foiled by the joint forces,of the police and military. Four bandits, including Abu Rani, were killed. The others remain at large.
