The suspect has been identified as Christopher,Castillo, a furniture maker and a resident of 726 T. Anzures St., Sampaloc, Manila. He even used,his own son as human shield during the encounter.
He has been facing murder charges before a,court in Rosario, Batangas and qualified carnapping charges before a Quezon City regional trial court. He is also allegedly known as a notorious drug dealer,in the area.
On Wednesday evening, around 8:30, a team of,police from Manila Police District (MPD) intelligence group went to Castillo’s residence,to serve the warrant for his arrest.
According to PO3 Aldeen Legaspi, the suspect,was with his family near a parked Mitsubishi sedan.
The police approached Castillo and ordered him,to lie down to the ground after introducing themselves.
However, the suspect allegedly refused and instead,drew his gun and fired at the arresting officers; prompting the latter to return fire.
During the shootout, Castillo hid behind another parked,vehicle and even used his own son as human shield.
The suspect was eventually killed by an officer as he was,trying to escape while exchanging fire with the police.
Luckily the boy was unharmed.
