Edwin Jamora, a Filipino worker based in the United States rebutted the statement of Loida Nicolas-Lewis and said that her logic is skewed and that just because Overseas Filipino Workers send billions to the country, they do not have the power to unseat a duly elected official.

Nicolas-Lewis in her statement made a reminder that OFW' remittances provide a major boost for the country's economy , and their being away does not make them lose their right to speak about major issues in the country.

Nicolas-Lewis has been linked to several rumors of a plan to unseat President Rodrigo Duterte.

Jamora said that while he is an OFW, Nicolas-Lewis does not represent him.

"I disagree with Loida Nicolas Lewis. Just because we send monies to the Philippines, that does not allow us to unseat a legitimately elected president of that nation. That's just plain sick mentality," he said.

"If we follow her logic, then every single OFW that sends money to the Philippines have the right to unseat a legitimately elected President. Imagine the chaos," he added.

Jamora said that he enjoys the democratic freedom that he is experiencing in the US, but conspiring to unseat a president of a sovereign country is different and might cost them their passports.

"Now, planning to unseat a president of an independent republic that the United States is at peace with and forgetting to set the rights to private in an online forum, that's not against the law. It's just plainly called bloody stupidity. Pampered yaya reared starbucks subversives do the same thing," he said.

I am an Overseas Filipino and Loida Nicolas Lewis and her cohorts here in San Francisco do not represent me.

I am an American and very much a Filipino. I make alay to the Church of Western Union pretty regularly. My monthly remittances and all the other emergency remittances in between is what's helping the economic engine in the Philippines and collectively, that is, counting all the remittances of all the OFWs in the world, it amounts to the tune of about $28 billion US Dollars a year.

I disagree with Loida Nicolas Lewis. Just because we send monies to the Philippines, that does not allow us to unseat a legitimately elected president of that nation. That's just plain sick mentality.

As an American, I appreciate that our constitution here allows me to criticize whoever I wanted to criticize. That right is also accorded to Loida Nicolas Lewis. However, planning to unseat a legitimately elected president of a sovereign country is different. That will cost us our US passports.
