BREAKING NEWS: Suspicious abandoned box detonated in Manila

A box left was successfully detonated in Carriedo LRT Station, Sta Cruz Manila on Wednesday night.

Facebook user Johnny Lim captured the actual explosion of the white box near Carriedo LRT Station where the explosion came.

The authorities quickly responded to check the suspicious box and asked all the people to stay away before they decided to destroy it.

NCRPO clarified that the explosion was not caused by a bomb or an explosive device.

The authorities decided to destroy the suspicious box to ensure the safety of the people.

The authorities found that the box left was only contained toys and shoes.

This is the statement of NCRPO Chief Oscar Albayalde on suspected bomb found near Carriedo LRT Station.

PNP thanked the public for quickly reporting suspicious things like that box left in Carriedo Station.

“People reported an abandoned bag. When the police responded, the items inside the bag were (found to be) only personal belongings. 

We’re very thankful to the public for being alert and (for) report(ing) suspicious things that they see to the police promptly. 

Whether bomb threats are hoax or not, we will always take them seriously and respond to them in the shortest possible time.”

The authorities warned the people to stay alert and report suspicious people or things quickly after some alleged terror groups plotting to create chaos in Metro Manila.
