The OVP is not even tweeting about the people that they labeled as “internet trolls” who created noise on the newest controversy that the Vice President is facing right now.
The leaked emails that were posted by Sass Rogando Sasot showed a well-orchestrated plan to oust the President of the Philippines, Rodrigo Roa Duterte and to destroy the alleged propaganda machine of defeated Vice Presidential Candidate Bong Bong Marcos.
The emails showcased some of the strategies of the OVP to fight back against the ‘internet trolls’ by spreading hate messages against Sandro Marcos, Bongbong Marcos and President Duterte on social media.
Leni Leaks (as the expose is now called) uncovered an internet group consisting of high-profile people of the international community including Fil-Am millionaire Loida Nicolas-Lewis.
The Fil-Am Millionaire wrote:
“The only way to fight this evil plot to unseat VP Leni is to ask Duterte to resign. After all, he promised to resign in six months if he has not solved the drug epidemic in the Philippines, He asked for an extension of another six months. Extension denied! Join Duterte Resign Movement.”
Blogger Thinking Pinoy questioned why the Twitter account of Vice President Leni Robredo is still not active since December 29 and has not been tweeting anything about the controversy..
DLSU Professor Antonio Contreras believes that Leni Robredo has the right to use her own money to mobilize her supporters on social media, but using the Office of the President and its funds is a different thing altogether.
Contreras wrote:
Leni Robredo as politician, using her own resources, has every right to mobilize her supporters in social media to protect herself.
But Leni Robredo, the occupant of the Office of the Vice President, has no right to use her office, and indirectly the public resources given to it, to target her political enemies, which even include ordinary citizens.
